5th Atıf Yılmaz Short Film Festival that was organized in the memory of master director of Turkish cinema shall be organized in cooperation of Oberhausen Short Film Festival this year.
Atıf Yılmaz Short Film Competition starts off for festival by taking Oberhausen Short Film Festival as a model. Besides, Oberhausen that is Sister City of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality made its mark among limited number of short film festivals in the world with Oberhausen Short Film Festival starting with establishment and directorship of HilmarHoffmann.
‘Oberhausen International Short Film Anthology’ in which best of the last years shall be met with movie lovers on 23-27th May within the scope of joint study of Atıf Yılmaz Short Film Festival shown as “road to Cannes” and Oberhausen Short Film Festival that is called “road to Oscar” in which hundreds of films were awarded. Besides; LarsHenrikGass, Oberhausen Short Film Festival Director, shall take part in jury of Atıf Yılmaz Short Film Competition.
Deadline of films in Atıf Yılmaz Short Film Festival in which works having type of “Fiction”, “Documentary” and “Animation” shall compete without having any limitation on theme is May 2nd. They shall compete to be successful from evaluation of the Pre-Selectors Board which consists of Actress Deniz Türkali, Mersin University Communication Faculy Dean Prof. Dr. Senem A. Duruel Erkılıç, Documentary Director Enis Rıza Sakızlı, and Anadolu University Animation Art Major Academic Member Ass. Prof. Dr. Çiğdem Taş Alicenap between the dates of 3-18th May. Participants who will contest their works on Fiction shall compete in jury in which Oberhausen Short Film Festival Director LarsHenrikGass, Director Emin Alper, Director Yeşim Ustaoğlu take part. Works on documentary shall compete in jury in which Director Can Candan, Bilkent University Communication and Design Departman Head AndreasTreske, Producer / Director Nalan Sakızlı take part. On animation category, the participants shall compete in jury membership of Anadolu University Fine Arts Faculty Cartoon ((Animation) Department Head Prof. Dr. Fethi Kaba, Director Kerem Kurtoğlu and Director Mehmet Kurtuluş.
Films shall compete for Cinema Authors Special Prize in jury membership of Subtitle Magazine Cinema Author Ayça Çiftçi, Birgün Newspaper Cinema Author Cüneyt Cebenoyan and Cinema Author Şenay Aydemir.
Category winners shall have 7 thousand TL
Winner authors on Categories of Fiction, Documentary and Animation shall have 7 thousand TL on premiere night to be held in Atıf Yılmaz Square of Forum Mersin AVM in the evening of May 27th. Besides, in the selection to be made among the films advancing to final, there shall be Forum Mersin Special Prize of 3 thousand TL, Cinema Authors Special Prize of 3 thousand TL, and Jury Special Prize of 3 thousand TL. Those wanting to take part in the competition that is open for everyone interesting in cinema as amateur and professional should send their works to Consultative Office of Forum Mersin AVM (Güvenevler Mahallesi 1. Cadde No: 120-133 Yenişehir Mersin) until 18:00 on May 2nd, on Monday by hand or via post/cargo.
